The Gallagher-owned insurance broker, Rossborough Insurance has recently agreed to sponsor Guernsey Raiders RFC.
Gallagher, a global leader in insurance, risk management and consulting services, already has sponsorship connections to rugby as a sport, being the title partner of Premiership Rugby in the UK.
Guernsey Raiders, founded in 1928, coaches both mens and ladies teams playing in the Southern national leagues, has agreed to a three-year deal with Rossborough in addition to the club’s existing corporate sponsorships.
The teams are raring to go having missed so many fixtures last season due to Covid-19. In particular the Siam Cup, the annual competition between the Jersey Reds and Guernsey Raiders. Their last Siam matches were in May 2019, so the teams will be desperate to reignite this long-standing rivalry.
Rossborough’s support will include the individual sponsorship of two Guernsey Raider players, Dale Rutledge and Kelly Jones, as well as support across the club’s teams.
Dale Rutledge is an experienced scrum-half who has recently returned to island and therefore, the club to retake his position in the mens 1st XV. Kelly Jones is a dependable left-wing in the ladies team who has a strong try-scoring record in past seasons, and no doubt this streak will continue into the 2021/2022 season.
Guernsey Raiders Sponsorship Director, Chris Gnapp, said: “We are delighted to welcome Rossborough as one of our key sponsors of the Guernsey Raiders. As a community club, competing at such a high level requires great support especially from our sponsors. The Rossborough team have always been great supporters of our teams and we are very grateful to have them on board as a sponsor.”
Richard Clarke, Managing Director of Rossborough Insurance (Guernsey), added: “We are immensely proud to sponsor Guernsey Raiders RFC who compete at such a high level, the men’s 1st XV in National League 2 South and the ladies in Women’s National Challenge 1 South East.”
“The club is a pillar of the community, and we will make sure we are cheering the teams on from the side-lines.”
