Roberts Garages is taking over the lease to run the petrol station next to Jersey Airport.
They won a competitive tender to operate the site, which will include fuel sales, a shop, car wash and Auto Centre, for the next 25 years.
The 50,000 square foot facility on l’Avenue de La Commune in St Peter is owned by Ports of Jersey.
The changes proposed by Roberts Garages are subject to planning approval.
Ports of Jersey’s Group Property Manager, Paul Griffin said: “After a thorough tender process we are pleased to have reached agreement with Roberts Garages Ltd. This will allow us to maintain a retail fuel offering at the airport in conjunction with developing facilities and services for the public in the west of the Island. This significant investment by Roberts Garages Ltd clearly demonstrates its commitment to Jersey and desire to deliver internationally recognised products and services in the local environment.”
Roberts Garages MD, Ricky Davey, said: “We are thrilled that Ports of Jersey has entrusted us with this opportunity on l’Avenue de la Commune, for which we have exciting plans, and which represents a considerable investment for Roberts. As we will be celebrating our 60th year of trading in 2018, this opportunity to develop such a key location in the island comes at an ideal time for the company.”
“Once built, this site will be the flagship for Roberts Garages and as such will be built to the highest environmental standards. With such a strong following of loyal customers, we are continuously asked to provide similar offerings to our current sites out to the west of the island and I am pleased we can now meet this request.”
Redevelopment of the site is due to begin later this year.
