Rise Yoga, which is Guernsey’s only dedicated yoga studio, is now offering a free online yoga course to Guernsey doctors and nurses to help support the community during the coronavirus outbreak.
The online course offers 13 classes, including six yoga practices with varying degrees of difficulty, three fitness classes and four everyday health and wellbeing practices to keep the mind and body in optimal condition. Rise Yoga would like to show its support by offering this course free of charge to Guernsey doctors and nurses during this difficult time and a £20 discount to all remaining islanders.
Co-founder of Rise Yoga, Justin Wolfer said: “While Guernsey is in lockdown, it is important to preserve a sense of normalcy and encourage islanders to remain active and healthy at home. Yoga is a great way to improve your posture, maintain mobility and can help to reduce stress levels if practised regularly.”
“We want to support the community and hope that by offering yoga and wellbeing practices online we can make a positive impact during this difficult period. We think that Guernsey has done an amazing job of supporting small local business during this time and we appreciate the effort of the community in enabling us to maintain the studio during this time.”
Guernsey doctors and nurses who wish to claim the free online course must email [email protected] or visit the Rise Yoga Guernsey Facebook page.
Emily Grainger, a client at Rise Yoga, said: “I’ve really enjoyed being able to access the Rise Yoga online classes. It’s great to be able to access a class at a time that is convenient and the website is really easy to use.
“There is a variety of classes available which focus on body awareness so that you can practice safely and get stronger. I’ve been practicing with Rise Yoga for a year now and I have seen some great progress.”
