Rihoy & Son kicked off their 100th Anniversary celebrations with a lively Family Festival on Saturday, 29 June.
The event celebrated 100 years since the business started in 1924, drawing over 500 guests, including staff, suppliers, sub-contractors, and consultants who have all played a part in the company’s history.
The Northfield football ground was transformed into a family-friendly festival site, complete with activity zones, giant inflatables, and games for all ages.
Entertainment abounded with magicians, bubble displays, stilt walkers, fire dancers, and live performances by local artists Faolan Griffin and Neon Fire. The day culminated in an evening set by headliners The Rubix.
Adding to the festive atmosphere were two bars and a variety of food trucks, bringing a street food vibe to the celebration.
Rihoy & Son Managing Director, Dan Taylor, commented: “This has been a great day. We organised the celebration to say thank you to our staff and the people we have worked with over the years, and it’s wonderful to see them, their friends and families enjoying themselves in the sunshine.”
Northfield, home ground of Northerners AC (North) was a fitting venue due to its long-standing connection with Rihoy & Son. From family members playing for the first team in the 1920s to the company’s current sponsorship of the club, Northfield symbolises the deep-rooted history and community ties of Rihoy & Son.
