Shops in St Helier are supporting a special late night shopping event tonight (Wednesday) designed specifically for people with disability and accessibility needs.
Access For All Night will see shops open until 8pm for Christmas shopping, as well as street food stalls, carol singing and a special festive atmosphere.
A shuttle bus will be looping St Helier to help with access, and a number of stores are laying on additional staff to ensure everybody can enjoy the evening.
One of the many taking part is Airtel-Vodafone who have just opened a new store at 1 Castle Street.
Jess Stanier, Marketing Manager at Airtel-Vodafone ,said: “Our new store is designed with accessibility in mind, and we realise how important this is. We’ve got extra staff coming in to be on hand for those who prefer a one-to-one and less busy conversation, we’ve booked out meeting rooms in case customers need a bit of extra time to chat with an advisor in a comfortable environment. We’re really keen to support this brilliant event, and help to make Access for All a really successful evening.”
Daphne East, Town Centre Manager, said: “It is great to see so many town retailers support the Access For All event. We have a number of popular retailers who are opening their doors later than usual. We have a shuttle service to assist shoppers and wonderful choirs dotted around town. It will be fantastic.”
