The newly refurbished Peninsula Hotel in Guernsey has had to turn away guests due to rooms being full.
Charlotte Walker, Operations Director at the Little Big Hotel Group, says they rarely have nights available, saying an increase in visitor numbers is the reason.
“We’ve pushed very heavy with the marketing side of things and we’re really trying to change the image of the Peninsula as a whole so that definitely played a part in business itself,” she said.
“I think generally it seems visitor numbers are up. Sadly we have had to restrict business – it’s not what we wanted to do however we have to look after the well-being of our staff, that’s the priority.
“As a result we’ve definitely turned customers away, and very rarely do we have bed nights available.”
