There’s been a record number of nominations received from the public in this year’s Guernsey Property and Construction Awards, despite the nomination period having only been open a few weeks.
The Awards, which recognise and reward those who work in Guernsey’s property, construction and gardening industry sectors, have been running for eight years. There are two stages: the first is when the public nominations are received. The second stage follows more formal procedures with a panel of industry experts selecting the finalists and winners for each category. These will then be announced at a celebratory Awards event on Thursday 4th November.
There are eight categories in all, which are:
- Rising star
- Industry supplier of the year
- Engineering project of the year
- Construction professional of the year
- Property professional of the year
- Landscaping project
- Best small project under £300k
- Best large project over £300k
Co-founder and event organiser, Julie Todd, said: “We have been deluged with nominations across all the categories. I’m impressed with the depth and breadth of quality companies and individuals who have already been put forward and look forward to receiving many more before the closing date of 27 August.
“Ogier have been gold sponsors since day one and have always supported the work we do to raise the profile of Guernsey’s unsung construction and property heroes. Category sponsors are: Savills, Guernsey Construction Forum, the Chartered Institute of Building, Channel Island Ceramics, Norman Piette, HVC, Sandra Robinson Kitchens and Sheppards estate agents. My huge thanks go to these wonderful sponsors, without whom we wouldn’t be able to run the Awards.”
Anyone who wishes to nominate either an individual or a company for any of the above categories can find full details and online nomination details here.
