A Ravenscroft investment manager is the youngest person in the Channel Islands to become a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment.
Alex Chambers, 23, joined Ravenscroft in Guernsey after completing his A levels at Elizabeth College having originally undertaken work experience with the financial services company.
“The work experience allowed me to see what happened across all of the different departments and I had a great time and enjoyed working with the team so when I was considering what to do after A levels, Ravenscroft was at the front of my mind,” he said.
Mr Chambers joined Ravenscroft’s investment management team and has since completed the CISI’s Certificate in Securities Level 3, Investment Advice Diploma Level 4 and Private Client Investment Advice and Management Level 6.
“I was keen to complete the qualifications as it enables me to contribute more effectively to the team and also provides comfort to our clients that we take professional development seriously in order to give the highest levels of service,” he said.
“I’m now studying for two more exams to become a Chartered Wealth Manager which is the top qualification in wealth management offered by the CISI and hope to have achieved that by the end of the year. Finding out that I was the youngest in the Channel Islands to become a Chartered Fellow made the hard work worthwhile,” he said.
Ben Byrom, director of Ravenscroft Management Limited, said Alex should be proud of his achievements and hoped it would inspire others.
“We have a number of staff who have joined Ravenscroft straight from school and have also recently established our own academy to ensure that we grow our own talent. Alex has worked incredibly hard but has shown that learning while earning is a credible alternative to university. We hope his success will encourage others to consider Ravenscroft.”
