Ravenscroft has appointed Jamie Mourant as a senior investment manager in Jersey.

Mr Mourant joins the discretionary investment management team to support the company’s growing number of clients, having previously spent nine years at Brooks Macdonald. He said: “Ravenscroft has a clear focus on people and this is reflected in their behaviours with both their clients and staff. From day one, and before I even joined, I was made to feel welcome and part of the team.

“From an investment perspective, Ravenscroft’s thematic approach is something that sets them apart and I’m excited to be a part of that. The team has a wealth of knowledge and I hope to learn as much as I can from them.”

Mr Mourant, who will be involved in the research and decision-making processes for the company’s five discretionary funds, said one of the greatest challenges in his new role would be navigating the current market volatility.

“I’ve played sports since I can remember and a lot of what I’ve learnt on the field – teamwork, hard work and commitment – translates to the office as well. I’m hoping these skills will be an asset to Ravenscroft and that we can work together towards the collective goal of doing the best for our clients,” he said.

“I am passionate about client service and look forward to managing a wide range of discretionary portfolios and growing the client base in Jersey by providing investment services to private clients, trustees, financial advisors and charities. It will also be great to work with David Le Cornu and Kevin Boscher again as we navigate through the recent challenging times.”

Haydn Taylor, Managing Director of Ravenscroft Jersey, said Mr Mourant’s previous experience would help continue the group’s successful build out of their discretionary team as well as complement their suite of investment services, which includes advisory investment, execution only, cash management, precious metals and corporate finance.

He explained: “Now more than ever it’s important that we continue to put our clients first and part of that is making sure we hire the right people. Jamie’s passion for investments and people is a perfect fit for Ravenscroft and we’re looking forward to having him on board, hearing his ideas, and having him help take the business forward.”
