Back again for 2022, Prosperity 24/7 is recruiting 18 corporate teams to vent their fury by hitting the saddle and pedal furiously to raise money for two local charities – Durrell and RNLI Jersey.
Taking place on Friday 15th July from 9am to 4pm in Broad Street, St Helier, each team of three will compete in a fast paced 30 minute race using 3D race technology and turbo bike trainers to take on a gruelling virtual stage of the Tour De France.
There are two ways to gain points and make it to the podium – race day performance and charity fundraising, so it’s not just about speed, the more money raised, the higher up the leader board each team goes. The final three teams will go ‘head-to-head-to-head’ to see who takes first place and win the coveted Prosperity Day trophy to display with pride in their place of work.
Until 28th February, teams entering can take advantage of an early bird discounted entry ticket. Once signed up, the teams will be supported to get competition ready with tips from Kit Chamier from True Food Sport Nutrition and Helen Papworth of The Aurora Lifestyle through a dedicated Facebook group. Teams will also be encouraged to get their companies behind them, whether that’s cake sales in the office, shaking a bucket or getting out on a training bike ride with them.
In the last seven years, Prosperity Day has helped to raise more that £118,000 for local charities and making a difference to the local community is an important part of Prosperity 24/7’s business ethos.
CEO Chris Clark commented: “Prosperity 24/7 feels privileged to be in a position to support our broader community as well as the digital economy, demonstrating how a well-run business can make a positive contribution to the Island we call home. Covid restrictions over the last two years have hindered our ability to put on the full powered event we wanted to, but we still managed to raise an incredible £25,000 for our chosen charities during that time.
“The fundraising element is a really important part of the day, so we want to make sure that the businesses behind each of the teams taking part are also doing what they can in to support them in the build up to the day.”
