Private wealth specialist Richard Laignel has been promoted to managing associate at Ogier.
Recently named for the second year as one of eprivateclient’s Top 35 under 35 in the Channel Islands, Richard advises a wide range of professional trustees, intermediaries, family offices and private clients on the establishment, operation and restructuring of trusts and the establishment of private trust company structures.
Richard, who is also a key member of Ogier’s Employee Incentives and Pensions team, recently made a presentation for Ogier’s Trust Advisory Group to Jersey service providers on the impact of the new substance legislation on Jersey companies and specifically its impact on private wealth structures.
Head of Private Wealth at Ogier James Campbell said: “Among both clients and colleagues Richard is known for his calm and organised approach to his work, together with his high technical ability. We are delighted to recognise Richard’s achievements in this promotion.”
In 2017, the year he was admitted as an Advocate of the Royal Court of Jersey, Richard was awarded the prize for the highest mark in the Trusts Law paper of the Jersey law exams.
