A new partnership between the Priaulx Premature Baby Foundation and Channel Islands Adjusters has been launched to celebrate both organisation’s twenty-year anniversaries.

Both Channel Islands (CI) Adjusters and the PPBF are marking this milestone with activities throughout the coming year, beginning this week with an anniversary-themed maildrop to all island households, further supported by Hand Picked Hotels and Guernsey Post.

CI Adjusters was established by husband-and-wife team Richard and Julie-anne Headington in August 2004. To celebrate two decades in business, the team is widening its existing community support by sponsoring the PPBF throughout the charity’s anniversary year, culminating in buying all nights during the month of August 2024 at all three of the PPBF’s Southampton properties via their ‘Buy a Night’ initiative.

The charity’s private, two bedrooms flats next to Southampton Hospital – named Aggie’s Burrow, Isaac’s Pad and Frankie’s Den – offer a ‘safe haven’ to Guernsey families with a premature baby or critically ill child. The PPBF celebrates its own 20th birthday on 17th November. To mark the occasion, islanders are being encouraged to wear purple for World Prematurity Day to raise awareness around the emotional and clinical impact of early births.

Jo Priaulx, PPBF co-founder said: “A new partnership like this is such a fantastic birthday gift. Now that we have three flats to manage and maintain in Southampton, it’s even more important that we’re able to keep raising funds not just for them, but for other PPBF projects including on-island hospital equipment, resources for families needing to travel off-island and Baby Boxes. We’re honoured to be CI Adjusters’ chosen charity during a special year for us both.”

CI Adjusters’ Julie-anne Headington added: “The very nature of our work as Loss Adjusters means we know that often the worst can happen and that, when faced with difficult circumstances, people need care and support. The PPBF’s work, providing families with a place to call home when they are at their most vulnerable, is a huge asset to our small community and their work matches our values as a business. We are absolutely delighted to be supporting them in a milestone year for both of our organisations.”
