The London office of leading international offshore law firm Carey Olsen is moving to new premises in response to the continued growth and success of its City-based practice.
The firm’s new offices are located in the prestigious Forum St Paul’s building, which has been through an extensive programme of refurbishment to provide optimal workspace in the heart of London.
Carey Olsen was one of the first offshore law firms to establish a presence in London when it opened its office in 2002. Since that time, it has played an important role in providing clients and contacts in the UK, Europe, Africa and Middle East with direct access to the firm’s legal services.
The move coincides with the arrival earlier this year of partners Jasmine Amaria and Richard Brown who head up a total complement of 35 staff.
Jasmine, who joined the firm at the beginning of 2019 as a member of the corporate and finance team, said: “The London office move is a very exciting time for us at Carey Olsen. The success we have enjoyed as an office, in conjunction with our colleagues across the group, has seen us outgrow the current premises.
“Forum St Paul’s is a state-of-the-art building that has been designed to provide the perfect space for our staff and our clients as we expand our London offering further.”
The firm’s London team advises on the laws of the British Virgin Islands (BVI), Cayman Islands, Guernsey and Jersey with an emphasis on corporate, funds and finance matters (including structured finance and securitisation), together with trusts and private wealth, restructuring, insolvency, dispute resolution and litigation.
Alex Ohlsson, group managing partner for Carey Olsen, added: “The move represents a significant investment by the firm and underlines the confidence we have in our future growth as we continue to see significant demand for offshore legal services delivered on the ground in London.”
The firm’s London team will be located at Forum St Paul’s, 33 Gutter Lane, London, EC2V 8AS from 9 December 2019.
