Credit Suisse in Guernsey has raised more than £25,000 for the Friends of Frossard Children’s Ward to pay for a new outdoor play area.
Work to build it will begin early in the new year.
It follows a series of fund-raising events by workers at the bank including a triathlon challenge.
The play area will transform the neglected garden into a usable outdoor space for patients and their families at the Princess Elizabeth Hospital.
Paul Annegarn, Credit Suisse CEO and Guernsey branch manager, said: “It’s been great to support such an important charity who provide incredible care to our young islanders throughout the year. I am extremely proud of every single person who as contributed to our fundraising efforts.”
Credit Suisse’s annual Christmas tree lights switch-on took place earlier this month, also as a fundraiser for the play area.
Cathy Gallienne, co-founder of Friends of Frossard Children’s Ward, said: “It was a fantastic evening, we can’t thank the team enough for everything they have done in organising this and the other events over the year. We and everyone on the ward are extremely grateful for the money raised.”
Marcia De Carteret turned on the Christmas tree lights after winning a children’s challenge, which involved decorating a pebble in a Christmas theme.
