BWCI are delighted to announce that Amber Buckingham, who completed her final exam to qualify as an actuary last year, has been awarded the Worshipful Company of Actuaries’ Prize for the Pensions and Other Benefits exam.
Amber was selected to receive this prestigious award, by the Board of Examiners at the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, out of 200 exam candidates from around the world, following her outstanding exam performance last year.
Amber said: “I was pleasantly surprised to receive an e-mail informing me I’d been selected to receive this award. The Pensions and Other Benefits exam is particularly relevant to my work here in the Actuarial Pensions department at BWCI, so I’m particularly pleased that it was for this exam”.
BWCI’s Student study coordinator, Matt Stanbury, said: “As far as we are aware, this is the first time that a Guernsey student has ever been awarded an actuarial exam prize. This is an amazing achievement and recognises the hard work that Amber has put into studying for her final exam. We are very proud of her fantastic achievement”.
