Parkinson’s Guernsey has appointed Mélanie Hardouin as its Administrator.
Peter Neville, Chair of Parkinson’s Guernsey said: “I am delighted to welcome Mélanie to our team. She has extensive experience of planning, organising and delivering services in the non-profit sector. She has already arranged a number of exercise activities that aim to help people of all ages and at all stages of the condition with their mobility.
“Exercise can improve enormously the mental and physical wellbeing of people with Parkinson’s and Mélanie is fully involved in extending the range of activity sessions we offer.”
“This is an exciting time to be joining Parkinson’s Guernsey as Administrator” Mélanie Hardouin said. “I’m thrilled to be able to contribute the expertise gained during my previous experience of working for charities and humanitarian organisations to the task of helping people with Parkinson’s live better.
“The immediate aim is to increase the support we provide to people with Parkinson’s in the Bailiwick, their families and their carers. This involves expanding the range of our weekly exercise and mobility classes and creating momentum by introducing monthly speakers, wellbeing workshops and taster sessions on new activities.
“I also want to generate more interest in and awareness of Parkinson’s through our newsletter, the use of social media and the expansion of special events.
“Needless to say, I’m really excited by this new challenge and the opportunity it provides to help people affected by Parkinson’s.”
