Orchard, the communications agency, has hired Jo Meerveld to lead its social branch.
Jo joins the growing business with significant agency and in-house experience with major blue-chip brands Specsavers, Shell and HSBC. She has worked in Hong Kong, London, Jersey and Guernsey.
Jo’s appointment reflects Orchard’s continued ambition to meet changing client demand across the Crown Dependencies, which saw the agency introduce a new model focusing on digital, social and PR in 2021. Having worked across the full spectrum of digital – from content and social to transformation projects – Jo understands the challenges that businesses face in managing digital and social channels.
Jo will work with clients to define, develop and deliver their business goals through content strategy and creative content planning across web and social channels. She will also further develop Orchard’s social offer through digital PR and SEO, content strategy, social media training, social listening and crisis planning, alongside the agency’s existing social media strategy and management offering.
Orchard’s Managing Director client services, Brooke Kenyon, said: “Jo’s appointment brings us years of experience and pioneering work in the digital and social media space, and broadens our agency capability so we can now offer clients a new range of cutting-edge services. Orchard continues to grow and evolve our offering while still rooting all activity in strategic communications, we are a multi-channel PR agency with our finger firmly on the pulse.”
Jo said: “I’m excited to be joining Orchard’s senior team. I’ve been impressed by the organisation’s impact on the local communications market for some time, which has been reflected in the number of industry accolades they have won in the last 12 months. I am looking forward to working with this group of talented communicators to diversify our offering even further, creating content that works for businesses big and small and providing our clients with the latest digital innovations the PR industry has to offer”.
