A concerted focus on the Hong Kong and China markets from Guernsey-headquartered fiduciary company NWH Global will be consolidated by its high profile presence at STEP Asia this month.
The firm is networking sponsor at the two-day event at the Grand Hyatt Hotel, Hong Kong, alongside gold sponsor Guernsey Finance.
With the theme “Providing Direction in an Evolving World”, the sell-out conference is expected to attract up to 500 attendees from more than 30 countries. Among other topics the programme will explore succession issues, protecting wealthy families and block chain for the private wealth industry.
Guernsey-based NWH Global Group Chief Executive Charlotte Denton said: “We have an established office with 25 people in Hong Kong and we are increasing our focus on the private client opportunities in the region.
“This event provides the perfect follow-up to a targeted business development initiative in Hong Kong over the summer. Hong Kong structures can work in tandem with Guernsey structures and our robust legislation, case law and regulation are among the attractions for this market.
“Guernsey is recognised as a strong jurisdiction for more complex structuring, sophistication and expertise, where the requirement is something more than a standard solution.
“Being alongside Guernsey Finance as the principal sponsor will really emphasise our presence at such a high profile event.”
One of the speakers at STEP Asia will be Russell Clark, partner at Carey Olsen, who will talk about “The evolution of the trust law in Guernsey: Proposals for law reform”.
