Following the successful launch of The Bus Stop at Liberation Day, its summer programme has been announced.
The bus will be used for targeted outreach in key areas across the island, with future pop-up sessions that will be guided by community need after the initial trials. Dates and locations will be delivered to targeted areas by mail drops, flyers were also handed out on Liberation Day, and social media content will help promote the bus, including on the Youth Commission’s TikTok page.
Emmie Bougourd, Youth Commission Outreach Lead, stated: “Outreach youth work is about removing barriers, whether social, economic, behavioural, or geographic.

“The Bus Stop helps us reach young people who might not otherwise access services on the island, including ours. Sometimes it’s as simple as a lack of transport; other times, it’s more complex. Every young person deserves access to safe spaces, support, and informal education that’s relevant to them. We hope The Bus Stop enables us to reach more young people and ensure equal access to vital information, resources, and opportunities, wherever they are.”
Charlotte Dunsterville, Chief Commercial Officer, Skipton International, said: “We’re proud to continue supporting The Bus Stop as it takes youth support directly into the heart of our island community.
“Championing initiatives that strengthen the communities in which we operate is central to Skipton’s values and we’re delighted to stand alongside the Youth
Commission in making community support more accessible, inclusive and impactful.”
