The committee of British Computer Society Jersey welcomed a new vice chair at the Annual General Meeting on 10 January 2024.
Réka Wilson (pictured), who works as an eMobility Product Manager for Jersey Electricity, joined the BCS Committee in 2022.
She explained: “I am delighted to be a member of the BCS Jersey Committee and feel privileged to be stepping into the role of Vice Chair at such an exciting time for our branch. Technology has provided me so much opportunity and fulfilment over the years, and it is my honour to be in a position where I can play a key strategic role and give back to the profession.
“I am looking forward working with Dave and the Committee to support the growth and development of our branch and our island’s IT community.”
Mrs. Wilson now sits on the Committee alongside chairman Dave Cartwright, treasurer and former BCS trustee Ronnie Isherwood, and long-serving secretary
David Haddon. David Salisbury, enterprise product manager at Sure Jersey, was also welcomed as a new member to the Committee.
Mr Cartwright commented: “It was a pleasure to welcome Réka when she joined the Committee, and she’s an ideal choice for her new position as Vice Chair,
“Many of us have been part of BCS Jersey for a while now, and it’s tremendous to have a brand-new vice chair who is full of great ideas and who’s superbly equipped to put them into practice”.
