TSG has launched the island’s first regular technology podcast: #TimeSavingGurus – Technology Unplugged reveals the world of technology, looking at how it’s adapted for work and entertainment.
Each episode encompasses the exciting use of technology related to the international day on which it’s broadcast. The pilot recording is for World Post Day on 9th October and is hosted by TSG Gurus Nathan Wright and James Baker. The Gurus look at how communication has changed since the humble days of the letter which took a week to travel from London to Edinburgh, through to the global adoption of instant messaging.
Nathan said: “Our purpose at TSG is to innovate by saving people time, reduce effort and increase productivity, so the time gained can be spent on more rewarding pursuits. We thought it would be great to get that message out through our podcasts. We spotted a big gap in the market for regular technology-related podcasts, and so we thought that it would be a way we could give back to the community, whilst having some fun at the same time”.
Co-host James, added: “This is a first for Jersey and each week we will be giving out tips that will save people time. We want this to be an interactive experience and we will be inviting guests to join in the fun”.
All of the podcasts are recorded locally with the help of the Digital Jersey Academy. In the next episode, James and Nathan will chat about World Statistics Day and how technology has played a part in how we visualise and present data.
The #TimeSavingGurus – Technology Unplugged Podcast is available here and will soon be available on iTunes and Spotify.
