A new organisation for offshore non-executive directors is launching in Jersey, Channel Islands, this month. Club NED aims to help non-executive directors (NEDs) find new positions with boards in offshore jurisdictions, and help boards recruit non-executive directors for vacant roles.
Founded by Shelley Kendrick, Managing Director of Kendrick Rose, a Jersey-based executive recruitment consultancy, Club NED is the first business of its kind focused exclusively on looking after offshore non-executive directors.
Club NED is free to join for non-executive directors based in the Channel Islands and Isle of Man and is also open to executive directors looking for their first non-executive director job, however, membership is by selection.
One of the aims of Club NED is to help boards find fresh talent, to improve diversity and bring people forward who might not otherwise have found out about a role.
Shelley said: “Club NED is designed to match non-executive directors to suitable roles with offshore boards. There is a growing demand for non-executive directors with the relevant skills to work with boards across industries, not just in financial services, but in technology, compliance, media, marketing, human resources, academia, sustainable development, legal and utilities. We work with a wide range of offshore organisations, helping companies, the voluntary sector, and non-governmental organisations all find exceptional talent for their boards.”
In addition to the non-executive director recruitment services, Club NED members will receive preferential rates with selected partners, and invitations to exclusive networking events once it is safe for these to commence.
Shelley said: “Club NED can help you find out about non-executive director jobs and other non-executive director opportunities you might never have thought of, that really fit your skills and interests, and then support you through the recruitment process.
“Covid-19 changed the way individuals and businesses operate, causing many of us to re-evaluate what we want to do and where we want to live. This is about breaking down the barriers to becoming a non-executive director and creating new career paths for talented individuals across industries.”
