The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI) has appointed Ben Snook Chartered MCSI as President of the CISI Guernsey Committee.
Ben (pictured) joined MJ Hudson’s Fund Administration team in November 2021 as an Associate Director as part of the senior management overseeing fund and ManCo operations in Guernsey, bringing with him his experience and knowledge in regulatory matters and the structuring and operation of open and closed-ended funds.
He has over 18 years’ experience in the capital markets and fund sectors with experience of various fund structures including hedge funds, private equity, traditional mutual fund structures and debt instruments.
Prior to MJ Hudson, Ben worked at a boutique funds consultancy providing regulatory and structuring advice for funds and other pooled investment structures, including commodity pools, and was part of the team that structured and launched the first authorised Guernsey cryptocurrency fund. Previously Ben was a Senior Manager at The International Stock Exchange and a member of the Listings and Membership Committee, which was the regulatory and supervisory decision-making body overseeing the Official List. Ben helped setup and acted as a director for SEI Investments Company’s Guernsey custody and investment platform.
He is Chairman of the Guernsey Investment and Funds Association – Technical & Innovation Committee and has been a participant in industry working groups, covering areas including cryptocurrencies, Market Abuse, MiFID II and Islamic Finance, amongst others.
In his spare time, Ben is an avid mountain biker and helps with the Guernsey Velo Club. He is lifelong supporter of Saracens Rugby Club and the NFL’s Seattle Seahawks.
Ben replaces former Guernsey CISI president Christopher Jehan Chartered FCSI. Following his appointment, Ben said: “It is an honour to take over this esteemed position from Christopher and we thank him for his inspiration and leadership. I’m looking forward to working with the Guernsey committee to plan our events for the rest of the year, with a drive to increase our membership, sharing the benefits of becoming active and involved.”
Kevin Moore Chartered FCSI, Global Business Development Director said: “A warm welcome to Ben who we look forward to supporting with the committee, with many thanks to Christopher as outgoing Guernsey President.”
