Praxis has announced the appointment of James Wiseman as the new Managing Director of its Guernsey private wealth and corporate services division.
Praxis say that the move underscores their commitment to the strategic importance and ongoing growth of the Group’s Guernsey operation.
James, who was educated in Jersey and spent the first 20 years of his financial services career there, has returned to the Channel Islands with his family. With over 25 years of experience in the corporate administration sector and private wealth and significant leadership roles at three leading global firms, his international expertise spanning Jersey, Luxembourg, and Singapore will be invaluable to Praxis as it continues to grow.
Leading a team of 80, he will be responsible for developing the existing private wealth and corporate services business on the island, collaborating closely with colleagues across major international finance centres and strengthening connections with the firm’s network of professional advisers on and off-island.
James commented: “I am proud to be joining Praxis, which, as an independent provider, places the client at the centre of everything it does. Despite the challenging and volatile external environment, the firm has remained steadfastly committed to its core values. I am looking forward to this fresh challenge and working alongside the established management team in expanding our service offering in the corporate administration and private client spaces.
“Praxis has ambitious plans to grow its core offering alongside exploiting new markets and I am very much looking forward to being part of that journey.”
Praxis has been a cornerstone of Guernsey’s professional services sector for over 40 years, with a long-standing presence in Le Truchot, St Peter Port. The company has recently signed a lease agreement to move to new premises at Regency Court, Glategny Esplanade, in the latter part of 2024.
The relocation will see 130 staff from the private wealth and corporate services, yacht services, and pension and employer solutions teams, as well as colleagues who deliver support to the global Praxis Group, move to the new open plan office space.
Praxis Group CEO Rob Fearis commented: “It’s great to welcome James to the team. His extensive experience and leadership will be instrumental as we continue to enhance our services and expand our global footprint.”
