Clive Doyle has been appointed Managing Director of Island Energy, taking up the role following the company’s recent rebrand from Jersey Gas.
This is Clive’s second stint with the firm, having previously held the role of Regulation and Risk Manager for Islands Energy Group, the parent company of Island Energy. Clive also has a wealth of experience in the energy sector, having worked primarily in energy distribution for more than 40 years with blue chip businesses such as British Gas and E-On.
He started his career as an apprentice, and is now a Chartered Engineer and member of the Institute of Gas Engineers and Managers. Clive (pictured) also holds a master’s degree in Process Safety and Loss Prevention, adding to his experience-based credentials.
“I’m very pleased to be back at what is now a very different organisation,” said Clive. “This is a challenging time for the gas and energy industries, where a great deal of change is needed if we are to meet our Net Zero ambitions. I am looking forward to working with Jo Cox and the rest of the leadership team to diversify our offering to customers, focus on energy efficiency and energy management, and to putting my knowledge and experience to good use in our mission to decarbonise the gas network.
“As an engineer, it is exciting to be working on opportunities to transition towards new products and technologies, and exploring the potential of gas blending, hydrogen and bio LPG.”
CEO of Islands Energy Group, Jo Cox, commented: “Clive’s appointment brings extensive engineering know-how to our leadership team. His familiarity with our business will also be crucial to enacting change and to helping with Island Energy’s journey to a Net Zero future.”
