Nineteen Bar & Grill has a new management team with more than 40 years’ combined experience in hospitality.
Emi Deliu has taken up the position of restaurant manager, with Orlando Abreu becoming events manager. Their appointments follow Marvin Odillard’s involvement with his new venture, Corner Group, which includes Cornerstone and the Cock and Bull.
“Both Orlando and Emi are hugely experienced and instinctively know how to provide guests with a seamless and enjoyable dining experience,” said executive chef and director Neil Maginnis.
“Emi has been with us since the start at Nineteen and has been assistant manager for some time now. Orlando, having worked as the food and beverage manager in a large four-star hotel locally for many years, is already a familiar face for many of our customers at Nineteen and they have warmed to him immediately”.
Emi has been in Guernsey since 2015 and worked in a hotel and a restaurant before joining Nineteen in 2017. Orlando moved to the island in 1994 and has worked for the last 27 years at the Duke of Richmond Hotel.
Matt Groves, managing director of Guernsey Golf Ltd and director of Nineteen said: “We are looking forward to working closely with this experienced management team to ensure that we continue to provide a top-class entertainment and dining venue for the people of Guernsey and visitors to the island”.
The kitchen has used the 2nd lockdown period to devise a new menu and a varied choice of daily specials. Executive chef Neil will now be providing an all-day food offering on Saturdays and Sundays, with full a la carte lunch and dinner and a new afternoon menu.
“Overcoming the challenges that lockdowns have brought has made both the kitchen and restaurant teams stronger than ever,” he said.
Marvin remains as a director, consultant and shareholder of Nineteen and will be on site for a few hours each week.
