Dr Caroline Yates has become a partner at Queens Road Medical Practice after working seven years as an associate general practitioner (GP).
Dr Yates joined Queens Road in 2012 after completing her GP training in Oxfordshire. She has specialist interests in obstetrics, gynaecology, contraception and family planning and is the practice lead for women’s health and palliative care. She developed these interests while studying medicine at King’s College London where she undertook research in pre-eclampsia.
Dr Yates has recently developed a nurse-led contraception service and is currently working on enhancing palliative care services through an audit based on the Royal College of General Practitioners and Marie Curie daffodil standards for end-of-life care.
“I’m excited to become a partner and I look forward to developing primary care services to meet the changing needs of patients, both now and in the future,” said Dr Yates.
Dr Gallagher, practice chairman for Queens Road, said: “Joining the partnership illustrates Dr Yates’ long-term commitment to the practice.
“She is a hugely valued member of the team and consistently shows compassion with practical solutions for all her patients, which is evident in the loyalty many of them have when booking their appointments.
“Providing a quality service for our patients remains our priority and this sentiment has been reflected in Dr Yates’ approach, so to have her on board as a partner of the practice is the natural next step.”
