CentricalCyber, a new cyber risk company, has launched in Guernsey to help business leaders move beyond the idea that ‘cybersecurity equals IT’ with their no-fuss, no-fear approach to cyber risk.
The company was set up by Rudi Le Roux, a former Chief Operating Officer and Chief Risk Officer, and Kyan Frith, an experienced business consultant: two qualified accountants with a fresh approach to managing business risk.
Working with C-suite leaders, IT professionals and board members, CentricalCyber conducts an analysis of a business’s significant cyber risks. This provides a clear understanding of the company’s biggest cyber risks, enabling quantification and management of the potential risk’s impact on the business.
Rudi Le Roux, co-founder of CentricalCyber, says: “I was previously a C-suite executive in an international private bank, so I’ve been where our clients are now. I understand the trials and tribulations that go along with being responsible for managing risk within the constraints of a company and feeling overwhelmed by the number of tools needed to safeguard the business. We want to help guide people rather than just sell solutions and software. We know that the preparation and paperwork that goes with the increasingly regulatory reviews are daunting, so we’re here to minimise your stress.”
Kyan Frith, co-founder of CentricalCyber, concludes: “Too often cybersecurity is seen as an IT-only issue rather than viewed within the context of broader operational risk, which is how we differ. We take that wider view, managing risk in a holistic manner. We look to and recommend the international NIST Cybersecurity Framework and ISO/IEC 27001 standard when working with clients. The globally adopted systems help businesses to manage and reduce risks while selecting adequate and proportionate security measures to ensure they stay in line with increasingly rigid regulatory requirements.”
