A vibrant new mural has been unveiled at The Harbour Gallery Jersey following a weekend of artistic collaboration and community spirit.
Created over Easter, the mural celebrates the gallery’s second year at its current location on the harbour and its 23rd year overall.
“We have just spent a manic Easter weekend producing St Helier’s latest ‘Art Wall’, measuring 24ft long and 8ft tall undercover in The Harbour Gallery Jersey driveway. 19 the Quay, Commercial buildings, St Helier,” said Pat Robson, Director of Art in the Frame.
Mural artist Vince Talcone was the designer and leader of the project. On Saturday, he was assisted by children aged 8 to 12 years. The theme of the mural is ‘All At Sea’, chosen to reflect the current exhibition celebrating the gallery’s move to its new harbourside home.
“This mural makes a most wonderful birthday present,” added Pat.
Art in the Frame Foundation, Jersey charity no. 21 and the managing charity of The Harbour Gallery Jersey, has thanked the Ports of Jersey for sponsoring the mural. Not only did they fund the project, but a group of their staff also joined Vince Talcone to successfully paint a second, smaller 8 x 8 ft wall.
