NatWest International is partnering with JAYF (Jersey Association for Youth and Friendship) and will be providing all employees with three working days a year out of the business to volunteer at the charity.
JAYF is a local charity dedicated to providing safe, affordable, and supervised short- and medium-term accommodation for young adults aged 18 to 25 who might otherwise be homeless in Jersey. Currently, JAYF operates five hostels with a total of 29 residents.
Volunteers from NatWest International recently delivered two impactful training sessions to JAYF residents. The sessions focused on the importance of budgeting and offered valuable advice on how to write a CV and prepare for an interview, equipping young adults with essential skills for their future.
Emma Roberts, Manager at JAYF, expressed her gratitude, stating: “We are delighted to have received such valuable support from NatWest International. The feedback from our residents has been really positive and we look forward to exploring further opportunities to improve outcomes for the young people we are proud to support.”
Richard Steel, Head of Retail Coverage at NatWest International, highlighted the significance of this initiative, saying: “Supporting the community is at the heart of what we do at NatWest International and it’s incredibly rewarding to see our colleagues make a tangible difference in the lives of young adults.
“Through our training sessions and the essentials donation box, we hope to provide JAYF residents with the tools and resources they need to build a brighter future.”
In addition to the training sessions, NatWest International has also installed an essentials donation box at their St Helier Library Place branch. The bank invites all community members to support JAYF through this initiative by donating items such as toiletries and workwear/clothing. The donation box will be available for contributions until the end of August.
Through initiatives like these, the bank continues to make a positive impact on the lives of young adults in Jersey and solidifies its ongoing commitment to helping the community thrive.
