Global offshore law firm, Mourant, has continued its streak of success with shortlistings in four categories at the Citywealth IFC Awards 2020.
The firm is in the running for both Jersey and Guernsey ‘Law Firm of the Year’ as well as ‘Litigation Law Firm of the Year’.
Partner and Litigation specialist, Jeremy Wessels, has been nominated for ‘Lawyer of the Year – Litigation’. This follows hot on the heels of his recent inclusion on the 2019 Legal Week Private Client Global Elite list, which lists 200 of the world’s preeminent private client advisers.
Now in their ninth year, the IFC awards celebrate the leading private wealth advisers, managers and firms in the major international financial centres.
Mourant Global Managing Partner, Jonathan Rigby, said: “We have a longstanding reputation as a preeminent law firm in the Channel Islands and work tirelessly to promote and develop the Islands as leading international finance centres. So we are delighted to see Jersey and Guernsey recognised in this way by Citywealth and very proud to be shortlisted as Law Firm of the Year and Litigation Law Firm of the Year for both Islands.”
In addition to the firm success, the jurisdictions of Jersey and Guernsey have been nominated for ‘IFC of the Year’.
Mourant has also been shortlisted for seven awards in the upcoming Citywealth Powerwomen Awards 2020, including for ‘Best Employer – Career Progression’, which will be announced on 22 February.
The awards are judged by a panel of highly respected practitioners from the private wealth sector. Winners are those judged to have excelled in achievement, innovation, expertise and service and will be announced at a ceremony in London on 29 January 2020.
