Mourant has appointed three lawyers to its Partnership. Corporate and Finance lawyer, Neil McCarroll will become a Partner on 1 February, with Gillian Kennedy-Smith and Ian Montgomery joining the Partnership in the spring.

Gillian Kennedy-Smith will join as a Partner in the Guernsey International Trust & Private Client advisory practice in March 2021. She joins the firm from Mills & Reeve in London. Gillian has 14 years’ experience working with HNW individuals, trust companies, family offices, accountants and IFAs, advising internationally mobile families on trusts, succession, next generation planning and tax.
Ian Montgomery returns to Mourant from Collas Crill where he was the Managing Partner of their BVI office. He advises financial institutions, public and private businesses, funds and individuals on all aspects of BVI corporate, finance and funds law, with particular focus on the real estate and technology sectors. Ian will head the firm’s BVI Finance & Corporate practice.
Neil McCarroll is promoted to Partner from Counsel on 1 February in the Jersey Finance & Corporate practice. He has a particular focus on corporate and M&A work, having led on a number of company sales and acquisitions for Jersey and international clients.
