All you need to know about holding art as an asset will be examined by lawyers from Carey Olsen and Taylor Wessing at a wealth management seminar in Guernsey today (Thursday).
The event, which is aimed at trustees and individual art collectors, takes place at Candie Gardens where speakers will consider issues arising around purchasing, holding, selling or distributing art amongst beneficiaries, the structuring options available for holding art assets and the tips and tricks to avoid disputes.
Carey Olsen partner Natasha Kapp, who is one of those speaking at the event, said: “Valuable art assets are frequently held in trusts and come with their own unique set of issues and challenges. We hope the event will provide trustees and other collectors with a valuable insight into managing those issues and challenges.”
Also speaking at the event will be Carey Olsen associate Julia Schaefer, Taylor Wessing partner Emma Jordan and senior associate Adil Essajee.
Registration for the event will be open from 3.45pm, with the seminar itself taking place from 4 – 5.15pm.
