Guernsey-based White Rock craft brewery and distillery has secured a major sales win to supply leading UK bar and restaurant chain, Stonegate Pub Company.
White Rock’s range of distinctive craft beers, including Wonky Donkey, Lost Tourist and the newest brew, Scapegoat, will soon be available on tap across hundreds of UK pubs. A similar deal for the company’s gin is also in the pipeline.
Securing access to Stonegate’s substantial estate a considerable achievement for the brewery, who say it’s not just great news for them but also for Guernsey. It means a local company with distinctive Guernsey centric brands will be exporting to the UK, giving the island excellent national exposure.
Ross Gledhill, Brewery MD said: “Getting the beers into the Stonegate pubs and restaurants is a major game changer for us. Stonegate is the second largest managed pub operator on the UK high street, as of September 2017, and has over 690 pubs and restaurants across Britain. These include well-known pub brands such as Yates, Slug and Lettuce, alongside more traditional formats. We started off as a local craft ale producer but always wanted to upscale production and go global. This is an important and significant first step in exceeding our objectives.”
He added: “Stonegate were particularly impressed by our overall brand identity and flavour profiles which sit perfectly alongside their own placement as providers of quality ales. Our ales are inspired by traditional recipes but adapted and modernised to create an infusion of flavours with real depth and originality.
“They loved the imagery of our brands such as Wonky Donkey, Lost Tourist, Loosehead and Pa’s Stout. They have also closely followed our media coverage generated by the brand and kept an eye on our social media approach, all important aspects in developing and showcasing our brand.”
