Channel Islands Adjusters is applauding the success of two key team members who have qualified as British Damage Management Association Insurance Technicians.

The accomplishment of Loss Adjusters Josh Smith and Aaron Slattery reaffirms the team’s status as the most skilled local firm in the loss adjusters industry.

Chartered Loss Adjusters are the recognised industry experts who provide support and guidance in the event of an insurance claim. Channel Islands Adjusters, founded by Richard and Julie-anne Headington, have live claims across Guernsey, Jersey, Alderney, Herm and Sark and recently celebrated 15 years in the industry.

The plaudit comes as the pair prepare to become Chartered Loss Adjusters when they are ‘time qualified’ at the end of 2019. They will join founders Richard and Julie-anne Headington, who were the world’s first married couple to become Chartered Loss Adjusters. Office Manager Tracy Le Page is also studying for the Chartered Loss Adjusting Certificate.

The British Damage Management Association (BDMA) was formed 20 years ago with an objective to work closely with insurers to improve communication, transparency and collaboration between the damage management sector and the wider industry. Their Insurance Technician qualification puts promoting industry standards and best practice at its heart, prioritising the need to keep abreast of the latest technical and scientific developments. Alongside this, practitioners must demonstrate the need to achieve cost effective recovery, reducing the claims cycle and increasing customer retention.

Josh said: “As a company and individuals, we want to represent the future of our industry across the Channel Islands, but we can only do so with investment of time and a lot of hard work. Thankfully, that has paid off and I’m looking forward to demonstrating everything I’ve learned across the varied range of live cases we’re dealing with here at Channel Islands Adjusters.”

The latest qualification marks a double celebration for Aaron Slattery, who has also recently been selected to join the Chartered Insurance Institute’s ‘New Generation Group’, a flagship talent programme showcasing stars from across the insurance industry. He said: “It’s safe to say 2019 has been somewhat of a milestone year, which will also see Josh and I qualify as Chartered Loss Adjusters. The industry continues to throw us new and interesting challenges and these qualifications back up what we learn every day out in the field across the islands, so the hard work is certainly worth it.”
