Advocate Kate Donohue, a family lawyer at Corbett Le Quesne, has been appointed to sit as a Deputy District Judge on the Northern Circuit of England and Wales.
The appointment was made by Lady Chief Justice, The Right Honourable the Baroness Carr of Walton-on-the-Hill, Head of Judiciary of England and Wales and the President of the Courts of England and Wales.
Advocate Donohue (pictured) will sit within the family jurisdiction on the Northern Circuit of England and Wales. She will travel to the UK to fulfil the responsibilities of her new role but will remain working at Corbett Le Quesne.
Kate said: “I am honoured to have been appointed to this role and I am really looking forward to the challenge. I have worked in Manchester as a solicitor and a barrister so returning as a judge will be very special. I am extremely grateful to Barbara and Nick at Corbett Le Quesne for being so supportive about this exciting new role.”
Advocate Donohue was called to the Bar in 2017 after having previously been admitted as a solicitor in 2009. Kate was also recently promoted to Counsel at the law firm Corbett Le Quesne.
Founding Partner of Corbett Le Quesne, Advocate Barbara Corbett said: “We are so proud of Kate who will be an absolutely excellent judge. Kate has the ability, expertise and temperament to be an outstanding asset to the judiciary.”
