Jersey’s locally owned care provider, LV Care Group, has celebrated its tenth anniversary.
The group, which started with just one care home, is now the largest care provider on the Island, with care in the community, mental health services, and a pharmacy, in addition to residential homes.
Founded by two local residents, Nick Bettany and Chris Shelton, the group is still owned and run by the local team who are committed to providing the best quality care for islanders. They now employ over 400 staff, and have seven nursing and residential homes. The group also offers home care, mental health & wellbeing care, nursing or residential accommodation, and specialist dementia care.
In 2019, the group launched in the Isle of Man with a care home and care in the community.
Nick Bettany, CEO and co-founder of LV Care Group said: “We are a local business providing a service for our own community, and as such we want to ensure that everything we do is for the benefit of Islanders. We’re proud of what we’ve achieved in the last ten years and know that this is in huge part down to the dedication of our staff. Both our services and staff are deeply rooted within their communities, and we are very much looking forward to continuing to invest in, and serve, Jersey and the Isle of Man for the next ten years.”
The group has not only invested in a nursery for its care staff to ensure it’s offering flexible working opportunities that fit in with family life, but also in a Care Academy which was launched in 2018 to help provide training opportunities and career progression for its own staff and others across the caring sector. LV’s staff are some of the most accredited and qualified on the Island.
The group is still investing and hope to receive planning permission in 2022, to build a new care home so that residents of the eastern parishes can have an option to stay close to home if they need nursing provision. Exciting plans for a world-leading dementia village are also well advanced.
LV runs the Listening Lounge, the free mental health and wellbeing service which opened in October 2019 and recently marked two years of supporting Islanders during the difficult pandemic years.
LV Care Group will be marking its 10th anniversary by holding a celebratory party for its staff later this year.
