Adele Bohlen has joined the Board of Lloyds Bank Foundation for the Channel Islands, replacing long-standing Foundation trustee, Alasdair Gardner, who stepped down from his position at the end of 2023.
In October 2023, Adele (pictured) was appointed as Crown Dependencies Director and CEO for Lloyds Bank International. Joining the board of Lloyds Bank Foundation for the Channel Islands (LBFCI) was a decision Adele made swiftly upon joining the bank, wanting to ensure she could not only be part of making a difference to the islands’ communities but also that she could learn from the charities the Foundation supports.
“Lloyds Bank Foundations are a unique offering from Lloyds Bank that not only give us as colleagues and trustees the opportunity to help and support others, but also vital insight into the challenges and opportunities that surround us”, Adele said.
“These learnings are crucial and can only help us provide a better service for those we support. By sitting on the Board, I hope to gain a deeper understanding around the needs and wants of our communities and reflect that not only through charitable giving, but through the services we offer as a Bank too.”
Adele has over 30 years’ experience in the finance industry, gained across several client areas and disciplines both on and offshore. Having held multiple leadership roles over her career, Adele brings a wealth of knowledge to the Board relating to management and building strong, interpersonal relationships.
Speaking about her role as Director and CEO, Adele said: “While the Foundation provides funding to vital charities, it also supports them in other ways such as mentoring and skills-based volunteering from our bank colleagues. To continue to provide local charities with personnel support, we need as many Lloyds Bank colleagues as possible to put themselves forward for volunteer roles.
“Inspiring others to make change in business must come from the top. Passion and drive should be visible from senior leaders; they should walk the walk not just talk the talk. That’s another key reason I wanted to join the Board.”
Philippa Stahelin, Chair of the Board, said, “It’s brilliant to see another senior leader within Lloyds Bank take up the mantle and join the LBFCI Board. Adele’s expansive knowledge and experience, combined with her motivation to make change will only strengthen our team.
“Adele’s passion and desire to immerse herself into the islands’ communities we support is a value that aligns perfectly with the mission of LBFCI. We look forward to a long and happy working partnership with Adele.”
