Lloyds Bank Foundation for the Channel Islands (LBFCI) has appointed three new Trustees from Jersey and Guernsey: Brian Heath MBE, Tracey Rear and Neil Fellows.
Each of them brings a wealth of experience to the Board, ensuring strength and breadth of skills that will support the Foundation in its mission to support Channel Island charities that help disadvantaged people to play a fuller role in the community.
Brian Heath brings invaluable charitable sector Trustee experience to the Board, as he already serves on the Management Committees and Boards of four Charities including The Prince’s Trust Jersey Steering Group, MyVoice Independent Advocacy Jersey, Helping Wings and Alderney Wildlife Trust. Having recently retired from a 35 years career with the Jersey Probation and After Care Service, most recently as Chief Probation Officer, Brian is looking forward to working with the Foundation. Commenting on the appointment, he said: “I am proud to be working with the Foundation in helping change lives for the better across our islands’ communities. I have served on the management committees of various charities and believe I can use this knowledge to help strengthen informed decision making by the Foundation.”
Tracey Rear has more than 20 years’ experience in the charitable sector focused on addiction recovery where she has worked across all areas of operations including: funding applications; project management; outcome monitoring and working with local government. Tracey has a deep understanding and appreciation of the needs of Bailiwick charities and the communities they support. Commenting on her appointment, Tracey added: “I’d like to think I have a fairly good grasp of some of the challenges local charities face. For me, this is an opportunity to use my experience and knowledge in a new capacity, helping to strengthen relationships between local charities and the Foundation.”
Neil Fellows is Senior Manager, Islands Community Banking for Lloyds Bank International. He has been with the bank for more than 30 years, holding management positions across retail branches, service and business development in the UK and Channel Islands. Neil’s career with Lloyds Bank International has resulted in a strong relationship with the Foundation and he saw the trustee role as an opportunity to do more. Neil is committed to supporting the Islands’ communities both in and out of work and is excited to take up post. He said: “I am passionate about our islands and love where we live, but l know it’s not perfect. Being able to support local charities through the incredible work the Foundation does is a privilege.”
Commenting on the appointments, Chair of the Foundation, Katie Le Quesne says: “Our objective with these appointments was to broaden the experience of the Board to ensure we have diversity in skills, opinions and a future-focused perspective. The calibre and expertise that Brian, Tracey and Neil bring can’t be underestimated and we are delighted they have volunteered for these important positions. 2020 is a significant year for the Foundation, marking our 35th year supporting Channel Island charities of all sizes and our grant-giving milestone of £20 million since being established so it’s an exciting time for them to join us.”
