Les Amis have maintained their Silver Level accreditation with Investors in People (IIP), putting them amongst the top 6% of IIP employers around the world.
The organisation has praised Les Amis’ efforts to keep their staff safe during the Covid-19 lockdown, remarking that the accreditation is a “massive achievement” and “cause for celebration”.
Shaun Findlay, Managing Director of Les Amis, said: “The process to receive this accreditation is very rigorous, including sharing our processes, interviewing members of the team and taking surveys from staff. We are very proud to have maintained our Silver status especially under such difficult circumstances and hope that it shows that we always put the safety and wellbeing of our staff and residents first.”
Les Amis was originally awarded the Silver Level rating in 2017. They scored higher in four categories of the award this year, giving them hope that a Gold Level accreditation is well within reach at the next application date in three years’ time.
Investors in People, which aims to create better workplaces through encouraging great people management, said of Les Amis: “To have faced the enormous challenges of the last few months, to have managed to avoid a single case of Covid-19 infection in both the staff and the residents, and to still manage to achieve a Silver award in this review is amazing. As always, the passion and drive shone out of staff in the interviews and it was a pleasure speaking to them.”
Shaun said: “We constantly strive to be one of the best employers in Jersey and as such will be using IIP’s feedback to review and improve our people management skills. As one of Jersey’s largest charitable organisation we aim to set a good example and are honoured to be recognised on a small island by such a global benchmark”.
Les Amis employs over 200 staff to assist them in supporting and empowering people with learning disabilities in their residential, domiciliary and respite services.
