The importance of leadership is to be recognised with a special chairman’s award at this year’s Jersey Director of the Year Awards.
It’s one of a number of new categories included in this year’s event, run by the Jersey branch of the Institute of Directors (IoD).
Nominations are now open, ahead of the ceremony in April which will be the ninth time the island’s top leaders across the private, public and voluntary sectors are lauded.
Gold Sponsor Appleby have been associated since the awards’ inception alongside Silver Sponsor HSBC.
Among the categories:
- Director of the Year – Innovation
- Director of the Year – Public/Third Sector
- Director of the Year – Non-Exec
- Director of the Year – New/Start-Up
- Director of the Year – Corporate Social Responsibility
- Chairman’s Award for Excellence in Leadership

Chris Clark, IoD Jersey Chairman, said: “After eight successful years, we decided to evolve our flagship awards initiative this year to better reflect excellent leadership, reward innovation, and celebrate the relationship between business and the local community. We’ve had some really outstanding entries over the years and I’d encourage anyone who has a good story to tell to consider a nomination.”
The black tie awards dinner at the Hotel de France takes place on Friday 27 April.
