Imperium Group has announced the planned appointment of Simon Young as Group Chairman.
This forms part of a carefully structured leadership succession, as Roy McGregor prepares to leave the Group following a distinguished tenure as Chairman, handing over to Simon (over the coming months.
Roy has been instrumental in guiding Imperium from a young single jurisdiction business to an established, fast-growing group. Imperium now oversees more than £13 billion in assets under administration, supporting client entities across Guernsey, Jersey, Switzerland and the UK. Under his leadership, Imperium has solidified its presence across key jurisdictions, earned a reputation for excellence, and built an enviable leadership team.
Incoming Chairman Simon Young has played a pivotal role in Imperium’s development, particularly in the success of its Jersey operation, which he launched and scaled to a team of 60 professionals in just a few years. As he transitions into the Group Chairman role, Simon has stepped down as Managing Director of the Jersey office – his successor Jennie Ekedahl was appointed last month.
David Gilmour, Chief Executive Officer of Imperium Group, commented: “Simon’s appointment as Chairman is a natural and highly strategic evolution for us. He has demonstrated exceptional leadership and vision in Jersey and has been instrumental in shaping our wider Group culture and client approach. I look forward to working closely with him as we pursue our long-term goals across all jurisdictions.”
David also paid tribute to outgoing Chairman Roy McGregor: “Roy’s contribution to Imperium has been nothing short of extraordinary. He has been a guiding force through every stage of our journey, offering wisdom, integrity, and perspective. We are deeply grateful for his leadership and his enduring legacy within the Group.”
