The Medical Specialist Group is celebrating yet another colleague milestone this year, as their Lead outpatient nurse reaches her 30th anniversary.
Paula Le Poidevin was gifted with flowers, champagne and a £500 travel voucher as recognition of her loyal service with the Group.
“When I started at the MSG in 1995, I had a two-year-old son and thought it would be a good idea to try a job with nine-to-five hours. Thirty years later I have two grown up sons and a one-year-old granddaughter and I’m still giving it a try!” says Paula.
“I was employed part time and back then there were only three nurses in total. Now the nursing staff team is over 20 and I’m the Lead Nurse. The whole team is a pleasure to work with and give their very best in time and effort to serve the variety of patient needs that we attend to. No two days are ever the same and the emotional highs and lows of our work can often be challenging when the clinic is so varied.
“Who knows what the next year holds, let alone 30, as I slip into retirement, but I know that patient needs are always put first, and I know as a team we are will continue to advocate for this.”
MSG Chair Dr Steve Evans said: “It’s a real pleasure to have yet another colleague reach such a huge milestone with us. Paula is a well-admired colleague who always dedicates her time to putting the patients’ needs first. She has supported our team since 1995, only three years after the MSG was formed in 1992, and has worked her way up to becoming the lead nurse. I’m delighted to recognise and celebrate her loyalty with our colleagues.”
