Le Masurier has revealed ‘Merchants Square’. Today, the local property developer has revealed the new brand and details of the 149 residential apartments for its £70million pound investment in Jersey’s Bath Street.

During the 1800’s the north of town was a busy and vibrant part of St Helier where merchants traded. Two hundred years later Le Masurier, who were once wine merchants themselves, has put Bath Street back on the map.

Prospective buyers are being invited to register their interest in the collection of one and two-bedroom apartments that are set around a peaceful courtyard garden.

Brian McCarthy, Managing Director, Le Masurier said: “Today is a very exciting day, especially given the challenges that the construction industry has faced over the past four months. We are proud to launch Merchants Square today, which will see an investment of £70m into St Helier”.

Brian continued: “Le Masurier is committed to providing highly quality accommodation for islanders and we have already had a significant amount of enquires, which is such a positive sign for the housing market in Jersey. We have launched our social media pages and website today so prospective occupiers can find out more about our plans for the development and register their interest and receive updates. This development will bring a new lease of life to this part of town. This will be a place to be proud to call home”.

A stunning restaurant and a new Premier Inn hotel will form an integral part of Merchants Square where you can enjoy alfresco dining on a new pedestrianised street that will link the town park to the Central Market. Some of the surrounding pavements will also benefit from being widened and greenified.

Maillard’s Estates has been appointed by Le Masurier as sole selling agents for Merchants Square.

Leanne Kirkland, Maillard’s Estates new homes sales manager, said: ‘This is a really exciting opportunity for us which is already proving popular with a growing database of interested buyers. We are thrilled to be working with Le Masurier on this project, bringing much needed new housing to the market in Jersey. We will be releasing phase 1 of the apartment sales this September, so now is the time to register your interest”.

Managing director, Simon Buckley, added: “This is such an important mixed-use development bringing significant investment to the north of St Helier with new homes, a restaurant and the islands second Premier Inn”.

Le Masurier is working closely with the Environment Department on their Public Realm and Movement Strategy for St Helier. A new street that will run between Freedom Centre and Premier Inn through to the town library will deliver easy connectivity from the north of town into the centre.
