The KPMG Prom Relay took place on Friday 12th July in aid of the office’s chosen charity of the year, Arlo’s Adventure.
The charity has two strands – to support Manx residents who require treatment in hospital in the UK, and to support bereaved families by raising awareness of the effects of losing a child or pregnancy.
The event was opened by Christy DeHaven, DJ from Manx Radio, who did a great job in welcoming and cheering on the runners throughout the event. Over 280 runners signed up to take part in the KPMG Prom Relay this year, with 70 teams entering the 10k relay, and 8 individuals signing up for the 5k solo race.
A huge congratulations goes to all the winners of KPMG’s Prom Relay for 2024 – Manx Wheelers who were the winning male team and overall winners of the 10k relay; Team Blend Gals who won the female 10k relay; ESTR Run Coaching won the mixed team category; Lee Worsfold who was the solo runner winner for the 5k event. Spot prizes were also awarded to teams Legs Miserables, Hair of the Dog, and Varley’s Angels.
This year, £11,470 was raised for Arlo’s Adventure, which brings the total amount raised for local charities to over £100,000 since the annual Prom Relay began in 2013.
Justine Howard, Associate Director at KPMG in the Crown Dependencies, commented: “Once again, we were blessed with a beautiful evening for the prom relay making it a thoroughly enjoyable experience for all and I took great pleasure in cheering on the runners from the sidelines. A heartfelt thank you goes to the KPMG citizenship team who really put their heart and soul into organising the event ensuring that it ran smoothly and safely, and to our amazing sponsors whose generosity and commitment helped bring this event to life and ensured its success.”
