Ashburton Investments, the Jersey-based asset management business of FirstRand Group, has promoted Kathy Davey from Senior Equity Analyst to Investment Manager.
Kathy has relocated from South Africa to Jersey.
Kathy has worked in the Ashburton Investment team for nearly 10 years, having joined in 2013 as an Equity Research Analyst for the African Equity Opportunities Fund. Formally involved in governance aspects of the Ashburton Global Leaders Equity Fund, she began working as a Senior Equity Research Analyst within the global equity team in 2019.
Her promotion to Investment Manager is in recognition of her increasing role in active equity management. She has been appointed as co-manager of the Ashburton Global Leaders Equity Fund; one of three active equity strategies run by the Global Equity team.
Kathy has experience covering stocks across a wide variety of sectors. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce (IT and accounting) degree from the University of the Witwatersrand, a Masters of Professional Accounting from the University of Southern Queensland, and is a CFA charter holder.
Dr James Cooke, Director of Investments and Head of Global Equities, said: “We’re delighted that Kathy has moved halfway around the world to support us in the Jersey office. Kathy is a top-quality research analyst and investment specialist; her expertise will be valuable in strengthening our equity offering.”
