The Aztec Group has announced a new Chair, as Patrick Gale steps down from the Group Board at the end of the current financial year, after five years in the role.
Patrick, who joined Aztec as a Non-Executive Director in 2010, will be succeeded by his fellow Board member Kathryn Purves, who has been a Non-Executive Director since 2020.
In the time since Patrick joined the Aztec Board, the business has gone from strength to strength – from a business employing 80 people to a 1,600-strong team across the Channel Islands, Luxembourg, the UK and the US.
Chief Executive Edward Moore said: “Since joining Aztec’s Group Board, Patrick has been an important advisor to the business in areas including our moves into new markets and jurisdictions, and ongoing investment in our controls and processes.
“I have always valued his counsel and experience and would like to thank him for all of his work on the Group Board.”
Patrick said: “It has been a great pleasure to see, and to be a part of, Aztec’s growth over the past 12 years – that success is a credit to everyone in the team at Aztec, and I have no doubt that it will continue into the future under Kathryn’s tenure as Chair.”
Edward said that in appointing a new Chair, the Group Board was eager to promote an existing Non-Executive Director and provide the same continuity offered when Patrick moved into the role.
He said: “I am delighted that Kathryn will become our new Chair, effective from 1 April. She is currently on Aztec’s Risk and Audit Committee and in her time on the board has come to know Aztec very well – I’m really looking forward to working with her in her new role.”
Kathryn said: “I am delighted to be Aztec’s next Chair, and I would like to thank Patrick for his invaluable support and guidance as I step into this role. Since joining Aztec’s Group Board I have been struck by the company’s ambition and success in achieving its targets, and I’m looking forward to continuing to play my part in its continued success as Chair.”
