Julius Baer in Guernsey has appointed Mona Sone as Head of Human Resources, bringing nearly two decades of experience in human resources, marked by significant achievements and a passion for fostering inclusive workplace cultures.
Mona (pictured) will lead her team in aligning HR initiatives with strategic priorities, fostering employee engagement, and enhancing operational efficiency.
Mona joined Julius Baer in the UK through the Merrill Lynch acquisition in 2013. Over the years, she has held various key roles within HR, including Shared Services, Employee Relations, Global Mobility and Reward. With a foundation in HR Specialist areas, Mona’s expertise extends across diverse domains. She holds a MSc in Business Psychology from the University of Westminster and a MA in Human Resources Management from the University of Middlesex.
Throughout her career, Mona has spearheaded impactful initiatives, such as the development and implementation of apprenticeship programs, diversity frameworks, and employee engagement strategies.
Reflecting on her new role, Mona said: “I’m excited to embark on this journey at Julius Baer Guernsey, and this really is a full circle moment for me after having visited a year ago for an offsite and falling in love with the island – its beauty and the warm welcome we received. My focus will be on cultivating a positive workplace culture, nurturing career development opportunities, and leveraging data-driven insights to drive strategic decisions.”
