JTC Director, Michael Thomas, has been nominated as one of the best young chartered accountants (CAs) globally, in the ‘ICAS Top 100 Young CAs 2019’ listing.
ICAS, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland, is a world-class network promoting, inspiring and enabling professional excellence in CAs. Every year it asks industry professionals to nominate chartered accountants under 35 who are excelling in their fields, representing the best of ICAS in the worlds of finance, business and beyond.
In this year’s awards, the group has specifically chosen to identify young CAs who are standing out in the areas of technology, trust and talent, rising to the challenges they present and finding solutions that will shape the new operating environment.
Michael, who is a Director in Group Development at JTC, has been nominated in recognition of the key role he played in facilitating the firm’s IPO premium listing on the London Stock Exchange last year. He worked with CFO Martin Fotheringham in dealing with all the financial analysts, corporate advisers, bankers and brokers involved in the process. Since moving into his current mergers and acquisitions role, Michael has continued to work closely with the JTC senior management in completing three further acquisitions since listing.
Commenting on Michael’s nomination, Martin Fotheringham said:
“Michael’s nomination is very well deserved after the key role he played in ensuring our IPO listing went ahead smoothly and also in helping JTC continue to expand in the year since. His professionalism and expertise, alongside a clear determination to help grow the JTC brand, is a credit to the firm and I am incredibly pleased to see that recognised by a leading accountancy body.”
All 100 professionals on the list have been invited to join their peers at The Future Generation event in London in September, where they will hear from the three category winners and also announce the ICAS One Young CA 2019 winner.
