A year on from its launch, over 120 worthy causes across the Channel Islands have been supported by JT Community Giving, JT’s new funding and assistance scheme.

The scheme provides funding, technology, technical support and, where and when needed, the involvement of enthusiastic JT volunteers for local charities, projects and groups.

From financial to technological donations, JT has worked across the community to keep islanders connected.

Kate Marshall, JT’s Head of Guernsey Enterprise said: “A year on, we want to reflect on the success of the Community Giving Scheme. We have seen an amazing level of engagement from the community and the reach of this campaign has exceeded our expectations.”

The scheme supported a wide range of demographics, from schools to the elderly, sports enthusiasts, community groups and more. In Guernsey the scheme helped 37 organisations, each representing a diverse range of needs, yet all providing essential community services, and 124 charities and not for profit groups benefitted from the scheme across the Channel Islands this year.

In Guernsey the beneficiaries included Liberate who received materials and costs for art exhibitions, Le Marchant Ward who received specialist stroke equipment funding for rehabilitation items, and Health Connections who were granted two digital screens for premises to help support online health directory for the elderly.

Guernsey Down Syndrome Group, Sark school, Guernsey Air Scouts, Friends of Maggie, the Youth Commission, Mental Health First Aiders and Relate Guernsey are a few more examples of beneficiaries on the island.

Kate Marshall continued: “As a technology company it is fantastic to see the technology and time we have donated make a real difference in the community. Our goal is to keep people connected and our progress this year serves as a testament to the dedication and support of everyone involved.

“This first year marks the beginning of a sustainable and enduring scheme that will continue to benefit people across the Channel Islands. We look forward to continuing the scheme next year and connect further with our community.”
